Cheniere Energy, Inc. has filed materials in response to FERC’s request for public versions of previously submitted analyses of potential hazards at the company’s planned Sabine Pass LNG liquefaction project. The filing is available in FERC’s eLibrary under Docket No. CP11-72.

Alaska Governor Endorses LNG Exports of North Slope Gas

Governor Sean Parnell (R-Alaska) has endorsed a proposal that would export North Slope natural gas as LNG to gas consuming markets in Asia. Reuters reports that Gov. Parnell supports the LNG export plan over a pipeline project that would transport North Slope gas to the Lower 48 States via Alberta.

Shell CFO Predicts PetroChina to Become Partner in Canadian LNG Export Project

Simon Henry, chief financial officer for Shell, told Bloomberg that the company expects PetroChina to become a partner in Shell’s planned LNG liquefaction and export project in British Columbia.

Opening Ceremony Today at Gulf LNG Terminal

Governor Haley Barbour (R-Miss.) will attend the official opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Gulf LNG regasification terminal today. The Sun Herald (Biloxi, Miss.) reports that six LNG vessels have delivered cargos to the terminal to date.
