Analyst: North American Shale Gas Could Drive LNG to European Markets
Speaking yesterday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C., BSA Energy President Ben Schlesinger said that increased development of unconventional gas plays in North America may trigger a natural gas glut in Europe. Platts LNG Daily reports that Schlesinger predicted that as production increases from North American shale gas projects, LNG that initially was expected to be imported into the United States likely will be diverted to European destinations.
