Rep. Shays Urges Compromise on Broadwater LNG Proposal
U.S. Representative Christopher Shays (R-Conn.) told a public forum that he was “getting cynical about the critics” of the Broadwater LNG proposal and urged opponents to be willing to compromise on the issue. Speaking to Newsday following the forum, Rep. Shays, who says he remains “formally against Broadwater,” expressed his desire for a more “constructive dialogue” on the issue and that opponents of the project ought not “invent reasons to be against” Broadwater.
