In its comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for TORP’s proposed Bienville LNG terminal, the National Marine Fisheries Service believes that the facility could cause “significant adverse impacts” in the Gulf of Mexico. The agency noted that the terminal’s open-loop design would negatively impact marine habitats and the fishing economy. The Mobile Press-Register (Ala.) reports that the chief executive of TORP, Joseph Berno, was not surprised by the agency’s comments.
