Speaking at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Caroline Deetjen, a consultant with DNV Energy, stated that the public is overly apprehensive towards LNG but that the industry ought to develop more research data to support LNG’s safety. “I think there’s a lot of uncertainty in the industry because there haven’t been LNG accidents,” she said.
