Tax Agreement With Quoddy Bay LNG Approved

Voters in Indian Township, Maine, on Tuesday approved a tax agreement between Quoddy Bay LNG, the developer of an import facility proposed for Pleasant Point, and Passamaquoddy tribal members from the reservations at Indian Township and Pleasant Point. The agreement exempts Quoddy Bay LNG from paying real estate and personal property taxes and allows Pleasant Point to reduce the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance tax on construction from 3% to 1%.
