Maryland Files Report with FERC Criticizing Proposed Sparrows Point LNG Terminal
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources yesterday submitted a 90-page report to FERC that concludes that the proposed Sparrows Point LNG terminal fails to satisfy the state’s interpretation of “remote siting,” as the term is used in the Natural Gas Act to describe state and local safety concerns to be considered in consultation with the state. Along with the report, Gov. Martin O’Malley wrote a letter urging FERC to reject the project. The report and letter are available in the FERC e-Library in docket CP07-62. The Baltimore Sun has local coverage.
