Energia Costa Azul LNG Terminal on Target for Early 2008 Start-Up
Sempra Energy’s Energia Costa Azul LNG terminal is 70% complete and is expected to commence operations early next year, according to Michael Sliwowski, Sempra LNG’s U.S. vice president for client relations. Sempra, which is sharing capacity at the site with Royal Dutch Shell, has an agreement with BP to supply half of the terminal’s capacity from its Tangguh project in Indonesia. However, because BP’s supply will not likely be available until the end of 2008, the Costa Azul terminal will have to secure interim capacity. Platts LNG Daily has further details.
