Nova Scotia Optimistic About Bear Head Terminal’s Fate

Despite the failure to finalize a sale of the Bear Head LNG terminal between Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and U.S. Venture Energy, Nova Scotia’s government remains optimistic that the project will move forward. “Now, it will be up to Anadarko to find another company to take over, and we are working through Nova Scotia Business Inc. and doing all we can to help those efforts,” Premier Rodney MacDonald said. Paul Doucet, a spokesperson for Nova Scotia Business Inc., notes that the project features local community support, a favorable geographic location, and initial investments already made by Anadarko, which should attract potential buyers.
