Responding to concerns that LNG vessels traveling to Broadwater’s proposed LNG facility would disrupt Naval submarine transit , the Captain of the Port for the Long Island Sound said that directing both submarine and LNG tanker traffic is a manageable task. “Right now we think that’s a traffic management issue,” U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Peter Boynton said yesterday during a presentation to the Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments. Boynton added that his remarks should not be interpreted as support for Broadwater’s plan. “I am neither in support of this project nor against it,” he said. Read more in The Day.
