Op-ed: Northeast Gateway Won’t Heat Massachusetts Bay

In an op-ed published today by The Boston Herald, Rob Bryngelson, Excelerate Energy’s Vice President of Downstream Services, responded to a March 3 article that claimed the Northeast Gateway LNG terminal would discharge warm water into Massachusetts Bay. Bryngelson explained that ships docked at the proposed Northeast Gateway LNG terminal would use seawater to cool their engines, but “Excelerate has developed a proprietary technology to recover the heat from the water, thus eliminating warm water discharges when on station and vaporizing LNG for offloading.” [Print edition only]
