EEA Predicts Increase in LNG Imports

The EEA is anticipating a rise in U.S. LNG imports this year to an average of 1.9 Bcf/d, which is a 12 percent increase from last year. Despite the predicted increase in LNG imports, the EEA says that higher natural gas prices and greater regasification capacity in the United States do not guarantee larger volumes of LNG because of growing demand for the fuel in Europe and political instability in countries that export LNG.
