U.S. House Subcommittee Approves Bill to Expedite LNG Exports to WTO Nations

Oil & Gas Journal reports that the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Power Subcommittee approved H.R. 6, a bill to expedite approvals of U.S. LNG exports to World Trade Organization nations. According to the report, the vote was 15 to 11 along party lines, with Republicans favoring approval and Democrats opposing it. An amendment to the bill also was approved, which would require LNG export applicants to certify that their exports are in the national interest and publicly disclose the specific destinations of their exports.
