Environmental Groups Critical of FERC’s Draft EIS for Cameron LNG Export Terminal

Sierra Club, Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, Gulf Restoration Network, and RESTORE filed comments with FERC criticizing FERC’s draft environmental impact statement (EIS) for the proposed Cameron LNG export terminal near Hackberry, La.  The comments allege that the draft EIS does not conform to National Environmental Policy Act requirements because, among other things, it is based on outdated, incomplete, and inaccurate information regarding the project’s impact on wetlands and shipping traffic, and it fails to adequately consider project alternatives, the impacts on endangered or protected species, and the upstream effects on increased natural gas production.  The comments can be found here, and the complete docket for the Cameron LNG project can be found on eLibrary under Docket No. CP13-25.
