ConocoPhillips’ LNG Export Application to Bypass DOE’s Order of Precedence

Platts LNG Daily [subscription required] reports that an official with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) stated that DOE will review ConocoPhillips Alaska Natural Gas Corp.’s (ConocoPhillips) application to export LNG to nations without a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States separately from DOE’s Order of Precedence, which establishes the queue for consideration of other non-FTA LNG export applications.  Unlike other applications in the queue, ConocoPhillips’ application is for short-term authority (two years), involves relatively small volumes of LNG, and does not involve construction of an LNG export terminal.  ConocoPhillips’ non-FTA application can be found here.
