Freeport LNG Wins Bid for Land to Build Liquefaction Plant

Freeport LNG announced yesterday that Port Freeport Commissioners have accepted Freeport LNG’s bid for a long-term lease of a 170-acre tract of land on Quintana Island adjacent to Freeport LNG’s existing LNG regasification terminal. Freeport LNG states that it will use a portion of the parcel to build its liquefaction facility and that, once it obtains government approval and funding for the project, it will enter into a 30-year lease agreement, with extension options for five additional ten-year periods.
