Petronet, Exxon Considering U.S. LNG Export Options

A managing director with Petronet LNG told Bloomberg that his company is considering securing minority stakes in the Freeport and Cove Point LNG export projects for “better pricing power and assurance of supply.” Petronet also is in discussions with Cheniere Energy for a stake in the Sabine Pass LNG export project.

Separately, an official with ExxonMobil said that his company is “actively looking” at LNG exports from North America. Reuters reports that the company is considering both Western Canada and U.S. Gulf of Mexico options.
