DOE Authorizes Additional LNG Exports from Proposed Lake Charles Terminal

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued two orders authorizing Lake Charles Exports, LLC and Lake Charles LNG Export Company to export an additional 121 Bcf/year of LNG from the proposed Lake Charles LNG Liquefaction Project in Lake Charles, La. to nations with and without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States. The additional authorized volume reflects the quantity of LNG “produced from optimized engineering and design of the facility” and is non-additive because the proposed exports originate from the same liquefaction and export facility.
