Venture Global Plaquemines LNG, LLC (VGPL) has filed an application with the United States Department of Energy to export up to 1,240 Bcf/year of LNG over a 25-year period from its proposed liquefaction and LNG export terminal on the Mississippi River in Plaquemines Parish, La. VGPL requests authorization to export the LNG to nations with and without a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States. The formal application with FERC for the proposed LNG export terminal is currently expected to be filed later this year, with possible commercial operations to begin in 2020.
