Canadian Energy Board Grants Bear Head LNG Import and Export License

The Canadian National Energy Board has granted Bear Head LNG, a subsidiary of Liquefied Natural Gas Limited, 25-year licenses to import up to 503 Bcf/year of natural gas from the United States to Canada via the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline and to export up to 685.9 Bcf/year of LNG from Bear Head LNG’s proposed terminal in Richmond County near Point Tupper, Nova Scotia.  The licenses contain terms and conditions, including conditions to control greenhouse-gas emissions and to reduce impacts on wildlife, water and are subject to the approval of the Governor in Council.  Read more in the CBCNews article.
