Shell-Led LNG Canada Receives Environmental Approval for Export Terminal

LNG Canada Development Inc., a joint venture company comprised of Shell Canada Energy (50%), an affiliate of Royal Dutch Shell plc, and affiliates of PetroChina (20%), Korea Gas Corporation (15%) and Mitsubishi Corporation (15%). has received conditional environmental approval from the Canadian and British Columbia governments for its proposed liquefaction and LNG export terminal at Kitimat, British Columbia .  The project is the first approved under the new combined federal/provincial environmental review process, and would produce approximately 26 million tonnes of LNG per year for export to global markets.  A final investment decision for the project has not yet been made.  Read more in the CBC News article.
