First Nation Rejects $1 Billion Offer for Support of Pacific Northwest LNG Project

The Globe and Mail reports that, after an initial vote, members of Canadian First Nation Lax Kw’alaams have rejected a C$1 billion (approximately $820 million) offer to support the proposed Petronas-led Pacific Northwest LNG project near Prince Rupert, British Columbia.  Lax Kw’alaams Mayor Garry Reece and 12 elected councillors will make the final decision on the offer on behalf of members.
