Delfin LNG Files Deepwater Port Application for LNG Exports

Delfin LNG LLC has submitted an application to the U.S. Maritime Administration and the U.S. Coast Guard to construct, own, and operate the Delfin LNG Project (Port Delfin) under the Deepwater Port Act.  The proposed project will be located approximately 50 miles off the coast of Cameron Parish, La, and, according to the press release, will be the first LNG export deepwater port project in the United States.  Delfin LNG intends to export up to 443.3 Bcf/year (approximately 9.2 million metric tonnes) of LNG from Port Delfin to nations with and without a free trade agreement with the United States.  Delfin LNG has also filed an application with FERC for authorization to reactivate the onshore pipeline portion of the project.
