Shell – BG Group Merger Could Signal Demise of Prince Rupert LNG Project

The recent announcement of Royal Dutch Shell PLC’s (Shell) C$88 billion ($70 billion) deal to buy BG Group PLC (BG Group) could mean the end of BG Group’s proposed Prince Rupert LNG export terminal project in British Columbia (B.C.).  Shell affiliate, Shell Canada, is the primary sponsor of LNG Canada’s proposed LNG export terminal project at Kitimat, B.C., which project is reported to be more developed than BG’s Prince Rupert LNG project.   Read more in The Globe and Mail article.
