Cameron LNG Receives Final DOE Authorization for LNG Exports to Non-FTA Nations

Today, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued a final order authorizing Cameron LNG to export over a 20-year period 12 million metric tons per annum (620 Bcf) of LNG from the proposed Cameron LNG export terminal in Hackberry, Cameron Parish, La. to nations without a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States.  Cameron received initial DOE approval for the exports in February 2014, conditioned upon Cameron’s satisfactory completion of the FERC environmental review process for its terminal.  FERC completed its environmental review of the proposed facilities and in June 2014 issued an order authorizing Cameron to construct its export facilities.  Read more in the press release.  DOE’s order can be found here.
