Gloucester, Mass., Mayor Carolyn Kirk will be in Washington, D.C., this week to press U.S. officials to designate Gloucester as a high-risk urban terrorist target because two LNG deepwater ports, GDF Suez's Neptune LNG and Excelerate's Northeast Gateway, are located off its shores. If Gloucester is designated as a terrorist target, it will be eligible for federal homeland security funding. Read more in the Gloucester Times.
